Adding User to Grouper Group

Contents

Production insights+ for NU related users is accessed via NU’s TrueYou single sign-on system. This requires users to be given permission to sign in to insights+ in their Grouper configuration. Grouper is a web-based user interface to control membership in various groups used at the University. These instructions were provided by Andy Costa on 8/7/2025:

It looks like you are using two groups for access, a nswers_allow group and a nu_group_allow group . In this example I will assume you want to add them to the nswers_allow [comment by David: Use this group] group so you would click on the first link to go to that group.

On the group screen, click the orange “Add Members” button in the top right.

After that, you can search for the users you want to add using the “Member name or ID” field. It’s quickest to search for a user by their NUID if you have it. Otherwise you can search by first and last name, just be certain to add the correct person if more than one user has the same name (John Smith etc.)

Then click the user you want to add from the search results as seen below. You can add user’s by their position as well but be aware if you add them this way they will lose access if their title/position changes in any way. I would avoid adding the user by team or any other route.

Finally, click the orange “Add” button below “End date” to add them to the desired group.
